Two New Nuclear Research Programs offered at FIU

Two New Nuclear Research Programs will support 16 undergraduate students and 4 graduate students each year with scholarships and fellowships.

Drs. Kavallieratos (Chemistry & Biochemistry) and Roelant (Applied Research Center) were awarded two grants in total of $600,000 from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the establishment of two new Nuclear Research Fellowships and Scholarships Programs. These interdisciplinary programs aim to train the 21st century workforce for research and management of our nation's nuclear facilities. They support undergraduate and graduate students (M.S. and Ph.D.) to perform nuclear-related research under the mentorship of FIU nuclear research faculty.
